For over 18 years, Pratap Chandra Das Memorial Trust has stood beside communities that others forgot — driven by an unwavering belief in human dignity and potential.
The three pillars that guide everything we do — from the decisions we make to the communities we serve.
To empower marginalized communities through sustainable programs in education, healthcare, and livelihood — ensuring that dignity and opportunity are within everyone's reach.
A just and compassionate India where no child goes to bed hungry, every woman is empowered, and every family has access to quality education and healthcare.
We operate with radical transparency, community-first thinking, and long-term accountability — because trust is the foundation of every lasting change we create.
In 2008, a small group of passionate volunteers gathered in a modest community hall with a single purpose: to respond to the suffering they saw around them. Families struggling without food, children unable to afford school, villagers walking miles for basic medical care — the needs were immense, and the response was simple: we must help.
Starting with a single literacy program serving 40 children, the Foundation grew steadily — one village at a time, one family at a time. Donors near and far contributed their resources. Local volunteers gave their time. And communities, once forgotten, began to see hope on the horizon.
Today, Pratap Chandra Das Memorial Trust runs more than 12 active programs across 32 villages, touching over 12,000 lives annually. Our work spans free education support, mobile healthcare camps, vocational training for women, and emergency relief during natural disasters.
But the numbers, as meaningful as they are, tell only part of the story. The real story is in the child who now attends college on a scholarship we provided. In the mother who started her own small business with our micro-finance support. In the farmer who has clean water because we helped build a community well. These are the stories that fuel us, day after day.
These are not just words on a wall — they are the principles we live by in every program, every decision, every day.
Every action we take begins with empathy. We see people as whole human beings, not statistics or beneficiaries.
We believe donors deserve to know exactly where their money goes. We publish annual impact reports and financial statements.
We don't just provide relief — we build capacity. Our programs aim to make communities self-sufficient over time.
We listen to communities before we act. Local voices shape our programs, ensuring relevance and lasting ownership.
We treat every person with dignity — no charity without respect, no assistance without honouring human worth.
We constantly evaluate, learn from our work, and improve our programs to maximise the impact of every donation.
Four core program areas that create a holistic ecosystem of support and empowerment.
